24 Free OMNICON Glossy Web 2.0 Icon Pack

Today I would like to release the OMNICON glossy web 2.0 iPhone type icon pack version 1.  If you use the WP Greet Box plugin, you will probably recognize that these are the icons used for pre-installed greeting messages.  Just to be clear, I created these icons from scratch, but I got my inspiration from Fast Icon.  Also please feel free use the comment form for any more iPhone type button icon requests you may have.

Ways to Increase Visitor Activity on Your Blog

The goal of this post is to help you increase visitor activity on your blog.  First let me define the term “activity” as anything your visitor does to interact with your blog.  An activity can be a variety of things, but the ones I want to focus on (which are also the most important ones) are: clicking on advertisements, donating to your cause, subscribing to your blog, sharing/voting for your blog posts, commenting, and navigating deeper into your blog.  To increase these activities, I to use the following 3 guidelines:

  1. Make it easy (and obvious) to interact.
  2. Ask them to interact.
  3. Do not nag.

So without further ado, here are some strategies on increasing visitor activity on your blog.

3 Web Design Mistakes That You May Need to Fix NOW

In this post I will discuss some of the web design mistakes that I have done on this blog, and what I did to fix them.

A few months ago, I was fortunate enough to get free advice from a friend of mine, Emily Luong, who happens to be a professional graphics designer.  Aside from being a graphics design geek, she’s put in good work on nice sites like Edelbio Skin Care Blog so I do not take her advice lightly.  I asked her to review my blog and what do you know?  It needs improving!

Developing CiCi’s Cafe Website

Cici (Paweena’s sister) owns a breakfast restaurant in Tarzana, CA. I am blessed and thankful for that because she lets me free-load off the delicious fresh food at her restaurant every time I visit Los Angeles. (As a side note: If you ever get the chance, you should visit CiCi’s Cafe in Tarzana, CA. Highly recommended breakfast joint!)

Aside from not knowing how to repay her for her kindness, I love the food so much that I have been developing a website for her restaurant, ciciscafe.com.

Believe it or not, the site’s backbone is WordPress! I can’t believe how easy it is to turn a WordPress blog into a simple restaurant site. This just goes to show how flexible Content Management Systems (CMS) are now.

I am nearly finished with the site. All I need to do now is update the menu and add some yummy food pictures.
