Hi,

I was just wondering is there anything I actually have to do other than just activate.

If I understand correctly, if I copy an article from another source and create a post, google with consider it unique automatically because I have this plugin activated?  Please explain.  Thanks.

Actually, yeah.
You need to do manual override on each of your posts and pages to define which preferred url version of your post or page.  How to do this? Explained already on its FAQs:

= How do I override a post or page canonical with a custom URL? =
You can do so by adding new custom field named "canonical" and set it to the
URL desired.

See the screenshot below for a clear view on how to do that.

Nope. Definitely not. This plugin is all about defining rel="canonical" for each of your post/page - which would help google 's crawler to see which page is the preferred version of other version (especially the origin - which should already be indexed first by google) .

If your content is simply a copy of others, and you 're tryin' to claimed it as the preferred version - instead of - the origin, google would still catch you.

This plugin is not your getaway for any plagiarism activities, it simply is an easy way to help you define your rel canonical for your posts / pages in your wordpress sites/blogs.

You may wanna take a look at how this rel canonical really is, here :
specifying the canonical properly

Hope it help.
