Hello

First let me say, AWESOME PLUGIN.

Works as promised and assuming I can figure out this one last part (question to follow) I am really psyched to use it - tested results on YSLow were incredible.

So, question:

One of the plugin I rely on heavily on my site is WP D-tree, a folding menu generator.

It stops working when I activiate wp minify, so I'd like to exluse the JS and CSS from this plugin, from minify.

Problem is, wp tree does not have a .js or .css file per se - instead, THIS is the javascript:

http://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-dtree-30/dtree.php?witheff=1&eff=blind&effdur=0.5

and this is the CSS:

http://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-dtree-30/style.php?fontsize=12&fontf=Arial%2C+Helvetica%2C+sans-serif&sfontdecor=underline&mfontcolor=000000&lfontcolor=06c&lfontdecor=none&hfontcolor=990000&hfontdecor=underline&rssgfx=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gnosticshock.com%2Fwp-content%2Fplugins%2Fwp-dtree-30%2Fdtree-img%2Ffeed-icon.png&rssgfxh=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gnosticshock.com%2Fwp-content%2Fplugins%2Fwp-dtree-30%2Fdtree-img%2Ffeed-icon_h.png

How do I put these in the minify exclude field properly?

I sthis even possible? Please advise

Many thanks,

Max

You can just specify "wp-dtree" as one of your exclusion patterns in the JS and CSS box.  Make sure you spread the word about the plugin if you like it!

Hello

I hope this isn't a silly question, but what is the syntax for an "exclusion pattern"?

I added "wp-dtree" to the fields:

"Javascript files to not minify (line delimited)"

and

"CSS files to not minify (line delimited)"

...but this had no effect - I assume there is some sort of extrra notation I need to add...?

THANKS!

Hello

OK googled "exclusion pattern" and tried this:

-wp-tree*

...but that didn't work so there must be more too this - if you could post and exacle when you get the chance I'd greatly appreciate it

yours,

WP Minify doesn't support "*" syntax.  "wp-dtree" should have done it for you because it implicitly acts like "*wp-dtree*".  There must be something else wrong.  Make sure you don't include quotes and wp-dtree is on its own line in the setting boxes.

Hi Thaya

Just an update, did as you suggested and it worked perfectly for the javascript - my site now gets "A"s across the board in every category on Y-Slow, which is super-cool

For some reason excluding the wp-tree CSS from minify didn't work though - its still minifying it and kind of messing it up, only for this one menu though

Is there anyway to use this plugin to minify JS only but not CSS?

If not, that would still make a really cool option

THANKS!  :)

wp-tree or wp-dtree?

Your CSS URL has wp-dtree in it, not wp-tree.  Also if you want to exclude all CSS, just exclude something common to all URLs like "http" or the letter "e"

Hello Thaya

Thanks for the direction. Very strangely, even when I simply exclude http from the minify CSS, some jumbles CSS is applied to the wp-dtree-30 menu.

It may be that WP dtree is just too complex in some manner for t his to work. WHo knows?

thx

I just fixed a CSS exclusion bug in 0.2.1.  Give that a try.
